Stick to Values, Not Diets

I don’t believe in diets. Diets don’t work in the long-term. They just restrict you. The only exception I make is if someone says they’re vegetarian or vegan. That’s different because it’s more of a lifestyle that a restriction. But if you simply say “I don’t eat carbs”, that’s more like restricting yourself. You have no values other than trying boost your appearance. Whereas, someone vegan cares about animals or the environment.

Hmm, then again, there are people who go vegetarian or vegan to lose weight. Personally, I have stayed vegan when I went on meds, and I still gained weight. So, it’s not about the diet. It’s more than that.

When you restrict your diet and you start to see yourself losing weight, it might bounce back because your body might be craving that thing you’re depriving it of. It’s more important to eat a balanced meal. It’s more important to stick to something healthy and nutritious.

I do want to eventually go back to eating vegetarian and than vegan. I stopped for silly reasons to be honest. I thought that I would stop hearing voices if I ate meat again. Turns out more than, a year later, it still hasn’t done anything for me. So even though honestly, I don’t care too much about animals, I think that if it’s unnecessary to eat animals, why do it? Why contribute to the problem? So, I do eventually want to transition. But it’s not about how much I weigh or what I look like. It’s about my values.
