Nessy – Three Times Ten (3×10)
Lyrics:
This is the oldest I’ve ever felt
This is the oldest I’ve ever been
Bittersweet moments I don’t miss
Mixed in with nostalgia
I can’t believe I’m three times ten
When I look to my past
I feel some regret
For the things that I could not even control
I wish I could feel proud
And sometimes I am
For some reason, I’m still not satisfied
I feel like I’m stuck in a time machine
The memories replay in my head
And though there were definitely better days
I feel sorrow and pain instead
Da da dum dum dum
Da da dum dum dum
Starting the fourth decade of my life
Not even close to what I had planned
Thought I’d do something important like cure world depression
But now, I’m just three times ten
When I look to my past
I feel some regret
For the things that I could not even control
I wish I could feel proud
And sometimes I am
For some reason, I’m still not satisfied
I feel like I’m stuck in a time machine
The memories replay in my head
And though there were definitely better days
I feel sorrow and pain instead
I feel sorrow and pain instead
Somehow I became three times ten
This song is about the mixed emotions I had been experiencing about reaching a new milestone of my life. There’s so many things that I had planned to do by this age, but I ended up with a much different life path. I realize that I did my best with what I had and what I knew, but also acknowledge that there’s so much more that I want to do. There’s so much more that I want to share. And, there’s so much more that I’d like to experience. I’m sure others can relate to similar sentiments.
